A Creative Collaboration

APA LA continues our inspiring and popular "An Evening With" series sponsored by Space for Arts, featuring a conversation with photographer Pamela Littky and Todd Heughens–SVP Print Design at FX Networks, who will discuss their process, inspirations and creative collaboration.

Pamela Littky

Los Angeles based photographer Pamela Littky has been producing award-winning, iconic images of high profile personalities for over ten years. Spontaneous and disarming, intimate and unpretentious, her portraits capture well-known subjects in seemingly unguarded moments. Littky’s unique relationship to her subjects and sense of humor has left an indelible imprint on her work.In between shoots of world-famous actors and musicians for top commercial and editorial clients, Littky pursues personal projects that show a decidedly less glamorous but completely compelling side of American culture. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions around the world.

Her first monograph, Vacancy, about the communities in two small towns located at opposite sides of the Mojave Desert was published to critical acclaim (Kehrer Verlag Sept. 2014). Her second monograph, the Villa Bonita, Foreword by Cameron Crowe (Kehrer Verlag Sept 2016), was picked by Vogue Magazine as one of Spring 2016’s Best New Books.

Among her awards and honors are 2016 PDN Selected Image, 2015 PDN Selected Work, 2014 AP30 Archive Finalist, One Shot: 2014 One World Honorable Mentions, 2011 Communication Arts Honorable Mention, 2011 IPB/Lucie Awards Honorable Mention and 2006 PDN Photo Awards Honorable Mention. Her work has been shown in various exhibitions around the world.

Todd Heughens

Todd Heughens is the head of Print Creative for FX Networks. In addition to overseeing the creation of key art and all static imagery for the network, Todd and his team also concept and direct all key art and gallery photo shoots. Todd joined FX in January of 2006 and, in collaboration with some of the best photographers and design agencies in the business, he and his department have created some of the most arresting and groundbreaking imagery in television marketing from Nip/Tuck to Sons of Anarchy to American Horror Story to POSE. Photography is Todd’s passion and working with amazingly talented photographers and art directing photo shoots is the most rewarding part of his job.

Previous to his tenure with FX Networks, Heughens worked as a graphic designer and art director, first in general advertising and eventually at Showtime Network in New York.

This not-to-miss evening promises to be an inspiring look into the creative collaboration of two of the best in the genre. Register soon. Seats will go quickly!
