This multi-panelist roundtable discussion will delve into the multitude of career paths and possibilities within the realm of photography, lead by artist advocate, Month of Photography LA's Co-Founder, and Executive Director of the Lucie Foundation, Cat Jimenez.
The Agent: Bob Dixon, Owner, Seven Artist Management
Seven Artist Management (7AM) is a management company focusing on photographers and their work; specializing in the Fashion, Entertainment and Advertising industries. Each artist represented by 7AM has their own individual aesthetic, which allows a unique opportunity to target their work to a variety of artistic endeavors (advertising, editorial, catalog, fine art and online media formats).
7AM offers full-service management, production, brand development and creative direction. We have over 20 years of collective experience working in the fashion and entertainment industries, as well as extensive relationships within the advertising, marketing, publicity and music industries.
Bob Dixon, owner of Seven Artist Management (7AM), has been an active participant within the Fashion and Entertainment Industries for over twenty years. He has worked as a Model Scout, Agent and Agency Director. Bob has long-lasting relationships with many of today’s influential publicists, producers, managers and agents. It has been his privilege to work for such companies as Elite Model Management, Wilhelmina and the Osbrink Agency. His energy, enthusiasm and all-around zest for life are a few of the attributes that he hopes to utilize and promote a creative working environment full of passion, productivity and prosperity.
The Gallerist: Shanoa Garcia, Owner, SAGE Projects
SHANOA GARCIA founded SAGE Projects in 2014. She has worked with artists and building owners to produce exhibitions in photography, painting, sculpture, and installation. Prior to this, she tenured as a gallery director in Culver City, and has served as an ambassador of Public Programs with both the Hammer Museum and Museum of Contemporary Art. Ms. Garcia also held roles at two global companies: Red Bull North America and BCBG Max Azria Group. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration and Management with a marketing focus from California State University Long Beach.
SAGE Projects is an independent curatorial and arts programming consulting company and gallery located in Boyle Heights.
The Picture Editor: Amy Feitelberg
Amy Feitelberg is the photo director of Los Angeles Magazine. She works with still life, fashion, portrait, food, architecture, and reportage photographers. Before LA mag, she was the photo editor of Outside Magazine for 6 years and worked at many publications in New York City before that including Entertainment Weekly and New York magazine. She has won several awards, most recently a gold medal for best photo essay from the Society of Publication Designers (SPD).
